You might be wondering where your usual weekly cybersecurity update email went, but instead, I’m here with some exciting news from Unxpose!
Throughout my career as a CTO, whenever I had to explain backend-related releases, I’d refer to them as changes to the company’s “plumbing.” I still like that analogy (🤓), and it fits perfectly with this MAJOR update: last Friday (Oct 21), we rolled out a brand-new engine for discovering and monitoring web apps.
At first glance, things might look the same: when you access the WEB section, you’ll still see the number of web apps and findings, your score, the key occurrences section, and the full list of web apps. So, what changed?
For starters, we’re now much better at recognizing when different URLs actually point to the same website. In other words, our engine can automatically detect that both http://unxpose.com and http://unxpose.com.br represent the same web app. This significantly reduces duplicate web apps, and, as a result, duplicate findings too.
Even better: when you click on a web app, you’ll now see a new Entry Points section showing all the URLs that “point” to that specific site. This gives you better insight into how redirects and your company’s URLs are structured.

This update may also impact the number of findings in the WEB section, and by extension, your web score and overall security score.
We’re super excited about this release and confident it will give you even more visibility into the web apps and sites your company has exposed on the internet!
